Iron County is located in the west central region of the Upper Peninsula and borders Wisconsin to the south. Geographically, it is the fourth largest in the state by square miles. Primary sectors of economy include forestry, tourism and long-time key manufactures all centered around the bountiful resources within the county. These resources include northern hardwood and pine forests, numerous lakes rivers and streams and a dedicated workforce.
